Craft Entry Requirements for 2008

ART AND CRAFTS

Carolyn Long, Chairman 455-1640

Entries for the Wetzel County Town and Country Days Arts and Crafts Show will be accepted Sunday, August 10, 2007, from 1 to 6 pm at the arts and crafts building on the hill at the 4-H Camp. Friends and relatives may submit entries for artists or craftsmen who are unable to meet this schedule. However, the artist’s names must appear on their work.

Artists may enter as many as five (5) works to allow a greater range in different categories. Each item will be judged by merit points, and prizes will include first, second, and third place ribbons. Cash prizes will be awarded for best of show, $10 each; one queen’s choice, $25; one teen queen’s choice, $15; three judge’s choice, $25; and one committee’s choice, $15. Youth awards will be presents at $5 each.

Judges are professionals in their fields. Each work is judged by number. No name appears on the entry until judging is final. Categories are: ART – (must be framed). Proper framing counts on the merit points. Art that is framed properly can be displayed properly. PHOTOGRAPHY – must be matted and framed for proper displaying. Photography must by 5x7 or larger; anything less than 5x7 will not be displayed.

Other categories are: tole, sewing, quilting, dolls, toys, yarns, threads, woodworking, ceramics, models, flower arranging (silk and dried), seasonal and miscellaneous.

Additional information about the arts and crafts display is available from the chairman.

Exhibits must be picked up Sunday, August 17th, from 12-3 pm. No exhibits may be removed before 12:00 noon on Sunday. If the exhibit is removed before 12:00 noon, the exhibitor will forfeit his prize.

Town and Country Days will not be responsible for any lost or stolen articles. There is security during the fair, and every effort will be made to ensure that all articles are protected.

No articles on display will be allowed to be priced or sold during the exhibit time. All decisions of the judges are final.
